INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
Installing AdjustaStairs is fast, simple, and requires no special tools, welding, or cranes. The unit arrives fully assembled and ready for immediate deployment. To install, simply position the top and bottom ends of the stairway on secure surfaces—whether from deck to deck, into an excavation, or onto a truck tray.
The stair’s self-leveling treads automatically adjust to match the slope, eliminating the need for on-site calculations or modifications. Handrails slide into the tee-slot side rails and are secured in seconds with a standard power driver. Once the stairs are anchored at the top and bottom, the system is ready for safe, OSHA-compliant access in under 10 minutes.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Installing AdjustaStairs is fast, simple, and doesn’t require specialized tools or training. Position the unit, secure the top and bottom into place using anchors, and raise/lock the handrails. As you step onto the stairs, each tread self-levels to match the stair angle—no manual adjustments needed. In just minutes, you have a fully OSHA-compliant, rock-solid stair system ready for safe access. See the steps below!

INSTALLATION FAQ
1. How long does it take to install AdjustaStairs on site?
AdjustaStairs can be installed in as little as 5–10 minutes by two people with basic tools. There’s no welding, measuring, or complex setup—just bolt the top and bottom into place, raise the rails, and it’s ready to use.
2. How do the treads stay level on different slopes or angles?
AdjustaStairs use self-leveling treads that automatically adjust to remain horizontal, regardless of the overall pitch or angle of the stairs. No manual adjustment is needed—just step in, and the stairs adapt instantly.
3. What surfaces can AdjustaStairs be anchored to?
AdjustaStairs can be anchored to a wide range of surfaces including concrete, compacted dirt, timber sleepers, and structural ply. The stairs must be securely fixed at both the top and bottom to maintain OSHA compliance and stability.
4. Can AdjustaStairs be moved and reused on other parts of the site?
Absolutely! AdjustaStairs are designed to be portable and fold flat for easy relocation. Once uninstalled, they can be carried or wheeled to a new location and reinstalled just as quickly, making them ideal for dynamic job sites. See more about uninstalling AdjustaStairs below!
5. Why are my stairs not self-leveling?
If your treads aren’t self-leveling, it’s typically due to carriage bolts still being installed in the stringers—these must be removed to allow the treads to pivot freely. Another common reason is setting up on uneven ground; since the stairs are designed to mirror the surface they’re placed on, significant sloping or imbalance underneath will affect the leveling. Always check that the base is stable and level, and that no bolts are restricting movement.
DISMANTLING ADJUSTASTAIRS
Uninstalling AdjustaStairs is quick and straightforward—just remove the anchoring bolts, drop the handrails by removing the wing nuts, and the unit is ready to go. The entire stair system folds flat for compact transport, and multiple units can be stacked for efficient relocation or storage. Whether you’re shifting locations on the same jobsite or transporting to a new one, AdjustaStairs are engineered for easy handling and fast re-installation wherever access is needed.
