Workers installing electrical brackets and cabling in road tunnels faced challenges in accessing over concrete barriers to reach the installation point.

These long access platforms, with a large overhanging cantilevered section on the tunnel wall side, allowed them to get up close to the work area and to use the space on the platform to store tools and equipment.

These platforms are designed to be quickly moved up the tunnel wall by one person and quickly foot-locked into position, and are found to be much more efficient than utilising EWPs.
