The Heavy-Duty Plant Maintenance Access Platform is a custom mobile work platform designed for maintenance, inspection, and service work around industrial plant equipment. It combines stair access, a guarded work area, and a 12-inch cantilever section to help crews reach service points positioned beyond the face of the equipment.
Built from SafeSmart’s mobile maintenance and cantilever platform experience, this configuration was developed for a customer requiring a more specialized access arrangement. The layout can be adapted around equipment geometry, working height, clearance constraints, and the specific maintenance task.
The 12-inch cantilever section extends the working area over the equipment boundary, helping technicians establish a closer position for service work. A 4-foot-wide stair provides a spacious access route to the elevated platform, while Batwing Gates allow personnel to step off at the equipment interface when required.
Quick-release guardrails can be removed for more compact storage when the platform is not in use. Guardrail colors can also be specified to suit site visibility requirements, including SafeSmart red or high-visibility yellow.
SafeSmart will review the equipment dimensions, required service locations, working height, clearances, and maintenance workflow to develop the appropriate platform configuration.
